My Missionary Son

A sweet, tender time and experience in my life as Scott, my first missionary, entered the MTC this week.  It has been really nice to have him home for the last two months.  In May, the younger children were still in school and so I had a lot of one on one time to visit with Scott.  I think that there is something that I will miss about each child as they leave home.  For Scott, I miss the conversations about things we are both interested in like books, gospel topics, jazz musicians.  I'm grateful he wants to serve, I'm not sure why I deserve a great son, but I do feel so very blessed.  I hope this is a wonderful experience for him.

I love my family so much!

Thanks to Ben & Karin who travel to Merced for every important family event.

Love my boys.

Scott couldn't leave for Florida without a last dinner at In n Out

and a last lunch at JDawgs.

The time had arrived.

After dropping off Elder Rowan, Emily and I pulled into a parking lot so we could cry.

Shall we not go on in so great a cause?

I can't believe that Scott is that big...but he LOOKS like such a perfect missionary. I'm so excited for him.

Aw... Such a Sweet picture of Emily. I remember well the day my big brother left on his mission..I cried for days. He even sang me that song "good night sweet heart well it's time to go" The night before he left..haha. He was one of my biggest fans ;)

So exciting, he will be a great missionary! Every morning when we do scripture stories ethan wants to hear about ammon. So a few days ago i showed him these pictures of scott trying to make a missionary correlation, he thought scott does look like ammon and was curious to know if scott remembered to pack his sword!

I remember when Scott used to call me "dgrr dgrr" (not quite sure how to spell the sound he made). He is an awesome person and will be a wonderful missionary.
