Dear Mom,
This week I made penuche frosting. I can't remember ever making it myself, but I remember watching you standing at the stove stirring in the brown sugar. I wonder if I just have one vivid memory or if it is your favorite frosting and you made it often. Hmm. I needed a tan color for Tommy's hamburger cake, for the Blue and Gold Banquet.

cute picture...when I was driving Emily around earlier that day she told me you had made a cake out of hamburgers and I wondered what was going on at your house...now I get it.
his face says it all. Olde Tyme, here in Turlock, makes a similar cake. But, I'd eat Tommy's first any day.
